You don't need any special skill to be a volunteer. Come to a volunteer event or help out with envelope stuffing, phone-banking, or staff our table at a festival.
Typical events include:
- Staffing fundraising events (set up, collect tickets, help greet attendees)
-
Staffing a table at a festival (take a shift meeting everyone that comes along)
- Phonebanking (it's easy, we tell you exactly what to do and say)
- Mailings (spend some time stuffing with others)
- Participating in a phone-a-thon
- Handing out flyers (at bars, coffee houses, and bookstores — evenings or weekends. It's a volunteer favorite.
- Lobbying (meet your legislator as a constituent and tell him or her your story)
